Tetra continues to be an excellent neighborhood restaurant. The pizza and stromboli are some of the best in Center City Phila.
All right, i'm a Detroit boy and they have Detroit style pizza. I made the walk over in Center City to try the pizza. So i had 3 slices of pepperoni (like Jet's back in Detroit) and a soda, and yeah, it ticks the right boxes. Sauce is plentiful, not as spicy as i like, and that's a matter of taste, pepperoni nicely charred. Now the devil of the matter is the crust. The crust must be thick, spongy, buttery, chewy, and crispy ALL AT ONCE. They delivered on the crust. I will be back. Staff was absolutely fine, it's a small pizza joint and i had the place to myself as i came in between lunch & dinner.
I've already reviewed Tetra before as a dependably good pizza joint, but on a recent late-night walk, I caught something that was worthy of a mention here. It was around 10:15 pm when I passed Tetra on a late night walk in the neighborhood and caught sight of one of their tables pushed out on the sidewalk with two pizza boxes full of the evening's unsold pizza. The slices, of all sorts, were presumably left out for the local homeless to eat. Kudos to Tetra and yet another reason to patronize them!
The Detroit pizza is very good here. It's also a decent value for the area. It does err a bit on the oilier side in my opinion but it has a good crisp and nice fluffy crust with good flavor in the tomato and brick cheese. Pickup was very easy during lunch and I had enough leftovers to get 1-2 more lunches out of a Detroit pizza.
Omg wow! The pizza here is delicious! This is takeout-only spot. The staff, manager and everyone is very friendly. I really wish this was dine-in as I'd love to meet up with people here. You can get a whole pizza or pizza by the slice. Please be aware that there is a $2 surcharge for credit card transactions. For a $4 slice of pizza, that can be $6. I wasn't told when I swiped my card...and I wish I was.
Needed an easy dinner for our last night on vacation in Philly. Saw fantastic reviews for this place and it was just a couple blocks from where we were staying. We went there to order, got the food, and it was absolutely delicious. The perfect pizza for a lazy night dinner.
Absolutely amazing pizza at a great price. Had the Logan Detroit style pizza (no pepperoni or toppings) and was surprised how good it was. The crust was cooked wonderfully with a nice crispy crunch, able to hold up with the size of each slice. Sauce had a very strong and rich flavor. Lots of cheese though the flavor was more subtle despite how much there is. Overall a great slice and excellent value for how good this is. Been meaning to try this spot for a while and wish I did sooner. Definitely want to try their standard pizza and a few more items from their menu. Thanks
